Bridging Architecture and Product Design
When I transitioned from architecture to product design, I immediately noticed a connection between these two distinct worlds. They both strive not only to create visually pleasing aesthetics but also to prioritize functionality. Whether in architecture or product design, the primary objective is to craft experiences that users genuinely connect with, evoking emotions in people.
I quickly realized that, for me, it has always been about understanding people's needs and creating ingenious ways to address challenges through creative design – whether within the physical spaces we inhabit or the digital interfaces we navigate.
The Getaway Cabins- Completed
Located in close proximity to the beach, these cabins are meticulously designed for tourists seeking to escape their busy routines and appreciate nature, allowing them to immerse themselves in nature and unwind. Crafted from wood, these cabins feature a luxurious interior design, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing getaway.
The main challenge I had to tackle in this project was to respect the client's desires and understanding the natural limitations we had while simultaneously creating relaxing experiences for visitors within a luxurious oasis.
Residential House- Completed
An entirely revamped 1950s structure was transformed into a four-story residential home, tailored to perfectly align with the residents' vision of their dream house. I meticulously dismantled it to its basic framework before reimagining both the inside and outside with a contemporary touch.
Throughout this project, I assumed multiple roles – not just that of the primary architect, but also that of the project manager. This experience greatly enhanced my ability to collaborate with a diverse team possessing varying backgrounds and skill sets.
Memorial- Award winning university project
A competition was launched for architecture students. My proposal, which won an award, focused on creating a memorial as a tribute to her. The central concept of my project aimed to lead visitors on a tangible path through different stages of grief, eventually guiding them to a peaceful viewpoint at the top, where they could find solace and distance themselves from the anguish.
In this project, I focused primarily on designing various distinct flows that guide individuals through different experiences, each related to a unique set of emotions. I quickly realized that by engaging various senses, we could evoke diverse feelings, and this realization contributed to the success of my project.
Multi-Functional Compound
The aim of this endeavor was to craft a miniature urban village amid the city's hustle and bustle, complete with an engaging pedestrian inner road and embraces progressive and innovative ideas.
The standout moment of this phase involved immersing myself in the life of the city, a bustling urban area, and identifying the challenges and pain points faced by its residents. This allowed me to address the city's needs by designing what it lacks most: accessible and communal outdoor spaces.
Green Technical School
As part of a university project, the goal was to design a fully self-sustaining educational structure in a village. The idea was to construct separate buildings nestled within the natural surroundings, providing students with a scenic journey through nature as they move between classes. Careful consideration was given to the placement of each section, taking into account natural elements and eco-friendly principles.
For this project, I had to push my boundaries to create something special by seamlessly integrating design and technology. In this particular case, the focus was on sustainable technology, making the entire building self-sufficient.
Cultural & Artistic Hub
After conducting a thorough examination of the local industries, establishing a cultural and artistic hub emerged as the optimal choice. The project revolved around the site's natural elevations, with a primary emphasis on crafting a series of art-infused stairs and communal areas. This endeavor aimed to fashion a sanctuary for artists, making the most of the landscape.
The key element that stood out in this project was the necessity for me to conduct research and interview artists to truly understand their needs. To achieve the best possible result, I had to immerse myself in the creative perspective of artists.
